The fact they wanted people to pay to watch it was a joke. Just google his fight v Gerald McLennan if you want to see him at his best. Although he should have been knocked out in the first. As he falls through the ropes G-Man misses a final shot by a few inches that he would have never got up from.

Glad he isn't doing it. He is a Legend and should be remembered that way. It's a bit like Sirt Trev or Billy Bonds coming back to play for the Hammers,,,,actually!!!

Not happening. He’s done his shoulder and ‘retired’ again.

A few posts about Roy Jones Jnr down the thread, talking about him in his "prime".
Just a reminder that a "prime" (aged 30) Roy Jones Jnr was caught doping. He failed a drugs test and was caught well over the testosterone limit. But the boxing authorities did nothing about it for THREE years - until somebody let slip that he'd failed the test.
In my view, that undermines anything he achieved. Within two years of the failed drugs test emerging (i.e. when the authorities would be keeping a closer eye on him), Jones Jnr had lost three major fights in succession.
This re-writing of Jones' career is startling. I just went online to check the dates etc. and all references to his failed test have been removed from Wikipedia etc.
But the fact is in 2000, while preparing for a bout with Richard Hall, he tested SIX TIMES over the limit for a banned substance. The entire sport sat on the result for three years - possibly because he was the golden boy of the sport - until Hall (who also failed a test) let it slip during an interview.
Initially, Jones' camp even denied the failed test had happened. But it later emerged that he had indeed been doping - naturally, they came up with some lame excuse about purchasing an over the counter nasal decongestant (like that would return testosterone levels six times over the limit!).
At that point, the failed test went public and the boxing authorities went into panic. The whole sport's reaction was muted and delusional.
Roy Jones Jnr used a banned drug.

Speaking of MWs.
Kaylor was totally gone - eyes wise, from what I saw - in the first. Great night.

Are you saying he didn’t slap?
He fucking did, did it a lot less as he got older though.

Calzaghe ruined Mark Delaney, broke his nose first round. I dont remember Mark complaining too much about losing.

Never took to Calzaghe after he beat Delaney and got away with slapping for the whole fight. I don’t think he threw a proper punch until he’d had 20 fights.

All we know is that Calzaghe beat him easily, both past their best. For Calzaghe, his hands had gone, so he relied on an absolute fantastic work rate and a granite chin!

Calzaghe was a brilliant boxer, it was just a real shame that the likes of RJJ and Hopkins avoided him in their prime and only went after him when they were shot and wanted a payday.
A prime Jones Jr v a prime Calzaghe would have been an unbelievable fight.

Went to see the Calzaghe V Kessler fight at the Millennium Stadium. It was obvious towards the end of the fight Calzaghe was well ahead on points but he still mixed it with Kessler and got caught but never looked like going down, he must have had a granite chin.
Retired undefeated, with his marbles, never been tempted by a comeback and hopefully he still has a few quid in the bank.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. I recently returned to Cribbage after a fifteen-year break and it was if I'd never been away.

It’s been sanctioned by the British and Irish board. He’s fighting some fella that’s about 15 years younger and last fought 2 years ago not 23.

Wasn't Rocky Balboa in his 60's when he made his comeback? Seems fine to me.
